How Waji Works – A Step-by-Step Look at Sessions

The Four Phases of a Waji Session

Each Waji session is structured around four phases, guiding you through a compassionate, intentional exploration of your chosen focus. Each phase plays a unique role in helping you process past events and reshape emotional responses.

  1. Activation: In this phase, you’ll connect briefly with the focus you’ve chosen—whether it’s a memory, trigger, emotion, or belief. This is not about deeply reliving the experience but gently connecting with the feelings and sensations it brings up. This initial connection helps you start the healing process in a way that feels safe and manageable.

  2. Externalization: Here, you’ll work with the “protector” concept. The protector is the part of you that activates in response to situations that feel uncomfortable or unsafe, based on past experiences. By identifying and personifying the protector, you can better understand its role and begin a compassionate dialogue to reassure it that you’re safe in the present.

  3. Deactivation: In this phase, you’ll use visualization to help reduce the emotional charge of your memory or reaction. You’ll imagine your protector relaxing, stepping back, or releasing tension, allowing yourself to create a new association with your focus. This phase helps reinforce a sense of safety and calm.

  4. Reorientation: This final phase supports you in visualizing how you’d like to respond in the future, especially in similar situations. Picture yourself engaging from a place of calm and confidence. This visualization strengthens new, balanced responses, preparing you to approach familiar challenges from a grounded perspective.

The Power of Repetition and Flexibility

You don’t need to have a “breakthrough” every session. Waji is built for gradual progress, and each session adds to your foundation of healing. Repetition helps reinforce new responses and ease emotional intensity over time. You’re encouraged to revisit similar focuses as needed, each session bringing deeper understanding and resilience.
